I've been working on a transcode script using your script posted on the wiki as a starting point. I'm thinking about posting it to the wiki. It has several new things like updating the mythweb interface with status updates, integration with commercial flagging and removal, maxrate control, input bitrate estimation and framerate computation, etc.
